It's Pronounced BONER

Or Baner or something who knows, what we do know is that his head isn’t screwed on strait. Ya this is never going to get old, anyway Mr. Boner thinks that people at Guantanamo are treated better than everyday Americans.

BOEHNER: I don't know that there's a terrorist treated better anywhere in the world than what has happened at Guantanamo. It is — we have spent hundreds of millions of dollars to build a facility that has more comforts than a lot of Americans get.

Thinkprogress wanted to note how degrading some of the things they subject these ’so called terrorists’ to are, like wandering around in a bra and a thong while being told your family members are whores. I would like to offer a counter to that, at least they get medical treatment, 3 meals a day, shelter and (well, most of them) a bed. In America few are able to get food stamps if they can’t afford food, shelter is rarely provided and apartments stay vacant while people sleep on the streets, the only medical treatment available is emergency and I wouldn’t call sleeping on the sidewalk a bed.

In Boners defense yes, the prison at Guantanamo does provide more for it’s visitors than a lot of Americans, but isn’t that a new problem all of it’s own? Micheal Moore explored that when he visited Cuba and found that Cuba was better to their people than America was. We don’t help provide the basic necessities for life to our own people that can’t afford it, leaving the quality of life around the country weakened. I guess I envision a world where the basics are provided for you and everything else you needed to earn, for a republican so outspoken about his ‘pro-life no abortion’ he certainly thinks letting people go hungry or even die on the streets without medical attention isn’t too bad, and that they’d be better off committing acts of terrorism so they can earn the privilege to eat in this country.

Nothing about republicans will ever make sense, just like the video below…which is…Roxanne?

Blackberry it is

From the new press secretary’s mouth he’ll be able to keep a limited capability blackberry that will be fully compatible with the presidential records act. Which still won’t really be a blackberry but it’s sure better than nothing.

However the most pathetic part of this first press conference was that over 15 minutes was taken up by reporters picking at the oath, JESUS FUCKING CHRIST OBAMA IS THE FUCKING PRESIDENT. Willing to buy new press please.

It’s also the 36th anniversary of Roe V Wade, and I highly doubt it can or will be overturned in the next 12-16 years, even after that it’s highly unlikely a future society will be anywhere near as religious as it is now. Hundreds of people will pray at the capital and hope some magical person in the sky will stop women from having the rights to their own body, I haven’t been in contact with god yet but I’m assured god is working hard to take away all our rights to our own body as soon as possible.

Similar is not the Same

You may have opened up the paper this morning and read a news article about how Obama may get his Blackberry, or something like it, but what the articles don’t mention is what would really be different. There’s about 2 or 3 “NSA Approved” ’smart phones’ that while containing similar features to a blackberry it’s not. It’s kinda like someone telling you a brick phone does everything you want when what you really want is color, there’s absolutely no confirmation on what kind of phone the president may get to use.

The problem is that Ambinder (and the mainstream media) doesn’t seem to know the difference between some NSA smartphone and an actual RIM BlackBerry… and there’s a big difference.

The biggest problem they’re having is that the current blackberry can only classify messages up to secret, and don’t allow you to customize something beyond that. I’m curious if the fact that the blackberry is owned by a Canadian company is what’s holding him up from getting some kind of custom job like he did with his vehicle. I’m sure there’s also a long history of the tank, Clinton wasn’t really around for the mobile phone revolution and well…W is still trying to figure out rotary.

The only other relevant tech news is pretty obvious, the ‘blowout liquidation‘ of Circuit City is anything but. You’re more than likely to still pay full price, which would still be about double the internet price, and you don’t have a return policy on it.

6. (And this is more of a rant:) Don’t act happy that we are going out of business, please. I have had more than a few qualms with my job and the company the past few years, trust me. But I am still sad to see it go. I helped out a lot of very nice people, and I genuinely believe I helped them out and went above and beyond for them. I may be the exception, but I helped as much as I could and didn’t sell people things that I didn’t think they could use. Part of what is so depressing about working there right now is how smug people seem to be about us closing. You don’t think the price on that camera is good? Neither do I, and I am sorry that I and 34,000 other people losing their jobs could not have saved you 12 more dollars on a camera. See how much better it gets in 6 months when Best Buy is the ONLY option for that TV you are looking for.

Capitalism is pathetic no?

Republicans Looking for Record Losses in 2010

At first I didn’t think this was so serious, some republican from Texas claiming that he’s a little uneasy with Clinton being Secretary of State since her husband has a hard time letting the public know about who donated money to his charity. Fair enough, I’m not dancing in the streets about the people on that list and I could see how others may live under a rock and want to take a second look into it. However what I won’t stand for is what has happened to Eric Holder.

Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee forced the panel this afternoon to delay by one week a vote on sending President Obama’s nomination of Eric H. Holder Jr. for attorney general to the full Senate for consideration.

So what’s the big bad thing Eric done to deserve this?

"It could well be there will be a request to delay the markup for a week so those questions can be asked and answered," Cornyn said. "Part of my concern relates to his statements at the hearing with regard to torture and what his intentions are toward our intelligence personnel who were operating in good faith based on their understanding of what the law was."

That’s right, because Eric Holder was so quick to call waterboarding torture, like any rational human being with half a brain would, republicans want to do everything possible to delay his nomination. They fear that people who tortured people innocently would get punished for doing so, boo fucking hoo.

I can’t predict the future, but 2010 is aiming up to be the greatest year for the democrats, and many even independents, since 2008.

Obama Totally Not The President

I’m sure we all remember 2000 when Gore won more votes, more electors and more hearts than George Bush ever did. We all remember the massive protests and the yelling and the screaming that the supreme court told us who the president was and not the people. Die hard republicans have a new strategy to combat Obama’s popularity, since he stuttered during the presidential oath Obama isn’t the 44th president.

I doubt this random blogger is serious, I also doubt his argument can be backed up by any lawyer and I fail to see this going any further than a blog entry where he admits to not watching the oath.

I personally did not watch the swearing in because it is not legal regardless of what oath he recited.

He’s not even complaining about what happened during the oath, he still thinks Obama may not even be a citizen or that he’s apart of the magical world of Zenu trying to suck out his soul. However I want to bring up a point that’s bothered me a little, and shows how out of touch these people ‘on the right’ are.

And is it just me or did anyone notice that the Obama idiots have even played race in this fraudulent inauguration?

Glen Beck even got in on this action, calling out Rev. Joseph Lowery for his line:

…help us work for that day when black will not be asked to get back, when brown can stick around, when yellow will be mellow, when the red man can get ahead, man, and when white will embrace what is right.

What people like random blogger and Glen Beck forget is that America’s history of being racist didn’t end with the civil rights movement, it didn’t end when we gave everyone voting rights and to this day it still hasn’t ended with the drug war that’s locking up countless numbers of minorities to work slave labor to which they receive less than minimum wage. As we speak people are being discriminated because of the color of their skin in this country, we sure as hell don’t endorse it but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen, but random blogger and Beck would like you to think it’s all over, or they’re just ignorant.

Now that we have an administration with a heart how do we convince the rest of the country that slavery is bad? How do we convince them that despite Obama’s stutter he’s still the president? Or do we give up these people dragging them kicking and screaming into the 21st century?

Anyone got any rope?

New President

After 8 long years of the most incompetent president we’ve finally set the country on a direction that will be better than the generation before us. The 20th century is DEAD and the technology we still use from that generation should only be used as a reminder of what we used to be.

A president who within the first few sentences embraced science and called for more and better internets. Move over Al Gore, Obama will be our IPv6!

If you have a moment check out the new white house page, there’s even an RSS feed for their blog. This is so refreshing, a president who’s both ready on day one and willing to share his knowledge with the people. Now when can we lock up Cheney, should we wait until after he’s out of a wheel chair or just go for it?

Olberman on Bush

For about 9 minutes here Olberman gives short little snippets of all the horrible things Bush has done over the last 8 years. It goes rather fast but to anyone living in a cave the last 8 years here’s exactly what happened.

So long Cowboy, the only thing left is hope.
